{Everett Enagagement Photographer} Rachel and Cody are getting hitched!

23 years. That is how long I have known Rachel! She has always been one of the sweetest, funniest and most good-hearted people that I have had the privilege of knowing. Cody is her perfect counterpart- witty, kind and all kinds of fun to be around. I love seeing how much they enjoy each other when they’re together, and I am touched that they have asked me to capture this amazing time in their lives. I love that we did their engagement session one year to the day before their wedding, and I can’t wait for the wedding day! Enjoy your sneak peek you two- and congratulations again!

{Edmonds Engagement Photographer} Melissa & Gabe are getting married!

I love the story of how these two met, and that they showcased their story though the engagement session. Gabe was the garbage man, she was the preschool teacher. Gabe borrowed the truck that brought them together to use for their session! We hit the Edmonds waterfront, one of my favorite locations, for their sunset engagement session last month. Congratulations you two on your upcoming wedding, I look forward to photographing you again in August!

{love} Get Engaged!

Have I mentioned that I love photographing love? One of my favorite session types is the engagement session, it’s fun, it’s fairly casual and it captures that exciting time leading up to when you’ll take your vows and start married life! Besides all that, the engagement session is a very important part of our photographer/client relationship for all my wedding couples. The engagement session is a time that we really get to know each other, sync up and I can see how you two are in front of the camera and you get to see all my goofy antics and excitement behind the camera. So, how do these sessions work? Well, first things first! We’ll sit down and talk about how you’d like to structure the session- what is important to the two of you? Do you like more candid/lifestyle images? Or would you prefer a more formal photo for those Save-the-Date cards you’re sending out? We’ll talk about what to wear, where we’ll go (like the location of the proposal or your first date!) and how we can showcase these images in your home, for invitations and Save-the-Dates and how we can even incorporate them into your wedding day decor! Images from these sessions are perfect for a personalized guest book, to show off next to the desert buffet, and of course to build into a wall display for your home!

Not sure if a full-engagement session is right for the two of you? A Sneak-Peek Engagement session may be just what you need! These sessions are shorter and take place when we first meet to talk about wedding photography, check out the page HERE for all the information you need to see if that’s the right one for you. For now I’ll leave you with a selection of some of the recent Kendall Lauren Photography engagement and love sessions and I hope to meet you soon to talk about capturing this special time in your relationship!

{How To} Show Off Your Wedding Photos: the Album

I love wedding albums! Old albums, new albums and everything in between. The moments so carefully presented of such a unique day for a couple in love. The sentimental romantic in me just can’t get enough! This album is from Shawnalee & Jeremy’s wedding at the Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo last June, today is their one year anniversary! (Happy Anniversary guys!) They’re currently off on a trip to celebrate their first year of marriage but I thought today would be a perfect day to show you one of the many ways that you can showcase your wedding photos. S & J’s wedding album is a 10×10 with three additional spreads for a total of 26 pages and 65 photos. The cover is from the Garbo collection of vegan suede’s called Hollywood Orange and has a 3×3″ cutout showing off one of their favorite ring & bouquet shots! Again, congratulations and happy anniversary Shawna & Jeremy- I hope you have a wonderful trip and I know you’ll enjoy your album for years to come! ❤

The albums that Kendall Lauren Photography offers are almost beyond words wonderful- they’re incredibly customizable, vegan, green, heirloom quality, archival and just plain pretty! All the albums come from a company called FINAO, they’re located in the United States and after talking to album vendor after album vendor there really was no other choice for who would create albums for our clients. Each album is carefully looked after as it is crafted by hand. The spreads are not cut down the middle so no part of the image is lost over two pages! Our albums start with a base of 10 spreads (20 pages) and 50 images, and a choice of 60 different vegan cover materials. From there pages can be added, covers can be upgraded to metal, ‘glass’ or canvas and cut-outs added to show off additional images on the front of the album. Each layout design highlights your images from every part of your day to show the story that unfolded. We offer three sizes for albums, 8×8, 10×10 & 12×12, and you can add on a “brag book” in a 5×5 of the same size to carry around, gift to your parents or keep at work! See our image showcase pricing including our albums here, and get in touch today to have a custom album designed just for you!

{Mukilteo Engagement Photographer} Molly & Charles are getting married!

I loved photographing Molly & Charles! We went to two locations that had meaning for them, and I love going to places that are meaningful for my clients (and it didn’t hurt that they were beautiful either)! We started and finished at the park overlooking the Puget Sound in Mukilteo where Charles asked Molly to spend the rest of their lives together, and in the middle we went just down the road to her grandparents home where her parent’s got married. Her grandparents were so hospitable and sweet, and I was so thankful they let us use their garden during the gorgeous golden hour that day. Charles is a sweet easygoing guy who can’t help but show how much he cares for Molly. I had the pleasure of getting to know Molly through the drive-through window a few years ago when I worked at Starbucks when she would come through in the morning on her way to her family business Molly Loves Candy! I highly recommend checking out their tasty treats, they’re vegan, gluten free and sweetened with beet sugar (my kind of candy!) Thank you so much for letting me capture this exiting time for the two of you, and congratulations!

{Edmonds Engagement Photographer} Corey & Maggie are getting married!

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing an engaged couple that are very near and dear to me, Corey and Maggie. Corey is my cousin and it’s been wonderful watching he and Maggie fall in love and to be a part of their wedding! I love that they chose a place that has meaning to them for their engagement photos, the Edmonds waterfront is a location they’ve come to over the years and enjoyed walking the beach and watching the beautiful sunsets over Puget Sound.  Congratulations Corey & Maggie! I’m really looking forward to photographing your big day at French Creek Manor in August!

{Seattle Love Session} Danielle + Dylan

I love this session. It almost didn’t happen, and I’m so glad that it did. We rescheduled the first time because of the weather. We rescheduled the second time because of the weather. We rescheduled the third time because of the stomach flu. We almost had to reschedule again, but decided that we could make it happen despite the set backs and went for it! We were racing the light with 45 minutes or less before sunset, running around Queen Anne, laughing and really having a great time- this is one of my favorite sets of images that I’ve ever taken. It’s probably partially because Dylan and Danielle are amazing friends of mine so I’m a little biased. Congratulations on three beautiful years of marriage you two, here is to many more!

PS. Today is Danielle’s birthday! Happy birthday beautiful, I hope it’s everything you hope for and more.

Love,

Kendall

{Portland Portrait Photographer} Happy Accidents

When I’m photographing out and about I really enjoy street-style photography. Some of my favorite images that I captured while traveling around the UK and living in London were these “happy accident” unplanned shots. I really enjoy capturing the unplanned moments that naturally evolve in front of my lens. This past weekend was my brother-in-law Sven’s birthday, so he and his wife (Rachel), my husband (Lars) and myself all went down to Portland to my in-laws new home to connect, eat tasty food, and explore the city together. We were standing outside one of the many vintage shops that Portland boasts and I snapped this photograph of Rachel just as she was turning, and it’s my favorite from the weekend, and was a happy accident.

{Seattle Newborn Photographer} Welcoming Emma

This beautiful little bundle of joy was welcomed into this world just before her mama’s birthday! I had the pleasure of spending the morning in the studio with Emma last week, and couldn’t wait any longer to share these images. I love taking a more natural approach to photographing newborns, not a lot of poses, a couple of different set-ups and I usually do a lot of photos with the parents & family. Mom and Dad wanted the focus on their beautiful little girl so I did just that. I hope you enjoy these images of baby Emma with her beautifully full head of hair and sweet expressions! Thank you Susan and Josh for bringing Emma in to the studio to meet me and for letting me get some good baby cuddles in! Expecting your own little’s arrival? {Edmonds Engagement Photographer} Love, David + Dan

This is David and Dan! I had the pleasure of meeting David in a networking group affiliated with the Greater Seattle Business Association, and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know him! David and Dan are in the midst of planning their wedding after almost 20-years together, and we took some time out to do some engagement photos down at the Edmonds waterfront which was one of their favorite spots as they were getting to know each other. I always love going to a location that has some meaning for those that I’m photographing, and was so glad that they chose this spot! These two have such a great time with each other, mostly teasing and banter, and their love is quite apparent! Congratulations David and Dan, and thank you for letting me capture this fun and exciting time for the two of you.
